Girl On The Run

Girl On The Run

Cold air in the darkness,
Reaching in the shadows,
Toward your quivering body,
But we'll still look for you,

I know your fear,
Know your pain,
I promise you dear,
I've felt the same.

Hot sun blazing as you walk further away,
From the place you first laid eyes upon,
The place where people need you,
I guess that you do not see,

I know we wern't close,
I know I was kinda shit,
But I promise you dear,
I will never forget.

In the hot sun with a water gun I saw you smile,
Didn't listen to your pleas as dad picked you up,
There was so much I could've done,
I wish you'd have whispered it to me, told me I'd screwed up,

I saw the tears,
In your pale eyes,
I so sorry dear,
I heard your cries.

Yet in cold air,
I still sit silent,
Praying your welfare,
Praying for you dear,
Here I'll be praying for you dear.
