On this silent mournful night
i beg that my voice be heard
and reach the ear
of heaven's door
for though i try my hardest
i can reach no
farther then the where i rest ,
this cold and darkened floor
tears fall from my weary eyes
as i kneel by my bed
i kneel here whispering,
softly whispering this prayer
inside my head,
let him never know
this grief
of which i so willingly bear
never let him feel
this pain
for which i would gladly
give my life to spare
let him never know
the agony
of giving his heart in vain
let him know
no sorrow of love that is unreturned and denied
let his heart
remain whole and untouched by cruelty from this life
