Opening Night

by Carmen   Jul 20, 2006

I bask in the spotlight
on opening night,
smiling for the crowd
in wonrous delight.

Being someone I'm not
feels good once in a while.
Acting excites me
as if I were a child.

Flowers and fans
and costumes are grand.
I feel like I'm in
a fantasy land.

I'm hiding myself
away from the world
up goes the curtain
let's give this a whirl.
