Rushing

Why must you get married so, so fast,
I thought you learned from your past.
To take your time and not get in a rush,
Seems like yesterday you had a crush,
Not on the girl who you are about to marry.
I guess that's the reason I'm a little leery.

But you say your love is strong and true,
this leaves me with one choice, to be happy for you.
I just wish you would ask me what I think,
or maybe just meet me for a drink,
to explain why you're in this gigantic hurry,
maybe I could understand and would not worry.

Though I might not understand or see things your way,
right by your side, I will always stay
If you ever need me to listen or just want to share,
you know where to find me, I'll always be there.
I will always be willing to lend a helping hand,
because your not only my cousin, you are my friend.
