Shattered Stone

by Maxter   Jul 20, 2006

Stones being thrown with stones
Deep into the cave of my mind.
Feelings as hard as rock.
Buried, so deep to hide.

Cracks were here and there,
With feelings flooding free.
But rocks were dropped below.
Hiding the true me.

But then a nail was shot
Straight into the rock.
A nail you drive so desperately
Tired to break the lock.

I felt the pain you gave to me
And yet it fades away.
But then myself comes back again,
And hides where he may.

More and more boulders lay
Trying to fill the cracks.
But further down the nail does go.
Because you had a knack.

This knack, you see, that you have
Is a word so simple yet
The word is harder than any stone
Since we havenâ??t met.

Pieces left, thatâ??s all thatâ??s there,
Of a wall Iâ??ve long since kept.
You gave an offer, more a wish.
One of which, I had accept.

The pains replaced with nothing
Then happiness flows through.
A happiness Iâ??ve never felt
For awhile, this is true.

Last thatâ??s standing,
All I can say.
Is the first stone
Breaking away.

Iâ??m almost set free,
Out of the gap,
Soon Iâ??ll be yours
No longer entrapped.

So close to touch,
So close to feel,
So close to hear
But yet youâ??re concealed.

Held by few chains,
So thin and so weak
With few solemn moments
That give me a peak.

You are so close
And very far,
Out in the distance
Like a shooting star.

All locks are open.
All chains are down.
I am now yours.
Get rid of your frown.

Together we are.
Your now my own.
I have become
A new Shattered Stone.
