Silent Hope

by blissfulbearje   Jul 21, 2006

Out of this battle-torn world,
Ruined bit of land,
This tree of hope flickers in the dark.
It is all we have.
As it stands there still,
motionless, like a statue,
A statue frozen by time.
This war keeps on going,
Life rushes by.
Tick tock tick tock, let it all stop.
This tree of hope guide us,
Slowing down time, putting life on pause.
Its leaves are white, colorless and shallow.
It allows our imaginations, to fly free.
We get lost in images that we want to keep.
Wishing for love, rest and peace.
For a short moment we have escaped,
Escaped from this battle-torn world,
Ruined bit of land.
BOOM, this crystallized tree shatters,
Tick tock tick tock, time rushes by.
