Great Job

by ashleeey   Jul 22, 2006

And suddenly it came to me,
You didn't just want to talk.
You wanted to break up,
When you asked to take me for a walk.

And as I came to realize it,
I couldn't help but freeze.
I stopped in my tracks,
My hair blowing in the breeze.

I looked up at you,
With that sad look in my eyes.
I knew it was coming,
When you looked up at the blue skies.

Hands in your pockets,
You began your speech.
About how we should stay friends,
And I felt my knees go weak.

My body began to tremble,
And I felt my heart rip away.
You just stood there and stared,
As my life was destroyed that day.

My friends came running up,
Wondering where I had been.
They saw the tears escaping,
And they held me close to them.

They soon came to realize,
What had happened with us.
They hugged me tighter than ever,
And I felt like I was being crushed.

Now I'm alone at heart,
So I just sit here and sob.
While all my friends sneer at you,
And whisper, "Great job."
