An Angel Among Us

As we live our lives
we come across friends
of every shade

yet on special occasions
someone will touch our hearts
in an unexplainable way

and with the beauty of
a budding rose
they change our hearts

igniting a fire of hope
within us
and warming our souls

giving life to the parts of us
we never knew exsisted
and restoring us to the fullest

giving light
to the darkest side of us
and helping us to grow

filling our hearts with laughter
and bring a smile
to our face

and as you part ways
you have an unexplainable feeling
that you have been touched by an angel

my friend I can only say
although we are not parting ways
you are an angel, my angel

without meaning to
you have reached into my life
and brought me hope

you have helped me
to be a beautiful butterfly
who's breaking free of her cacoon

you have touched my heart
and healed my wounds
by your compassion

and with a passion
unmatched by any other
you have loved me
