Unfortunate Events When Falling for a Best Friend

We all have certain things we like to keep to ourselves,
Certain things we don't want anyone to know.
I know that I keep telling you to leave,
But really I wish you wouldn't ever go.

Frustration is what you leave me with,
You make me so angry my cheeks burn red.
I don't know what has gotten into you,
I haven't got a clue what's going on in your head.

We've been friends since longer than I can remember,
You've always seemed to know the right thing to do.
But then you suddenly changed completely,
Once SHE decided to come up and talk to you.

The moment it seemed to happen,
I knew that it was entirely too late.
I was full of hate and jealousy,
I don't know how much more I can take.

I knew I should have told you the truth,
But the butterflies seemed to have won the fight.
You make me so nervous and lost,
I don't even know which way is right.

I want to tell you how I feel,
But I'm just so scared and confused.
Now that you have someone else,
I'm not the one who gets to have you.

It doesn't matter what I want now,
It doesn't matter what I choose.
Next time I'm just going to let it out,
Because in the end; what have I got to loose?
