One More Burden

by Ixora   Jul 23, 2006

I’ve heard of all your struggles
All the girls in love with you told me
Turns out I’m still messing up your life
I guess this is strike three

Nothing more that I can do
I ended it, said my goodbyes
Thought I made you happy
Drying my tears with lies

Guess that’s another mistake on my part
One more thing to regret
Knowing stubbornness is my only strength
Knowing how easy it can be to forgot

Cant we just shake hands
Avoid eye contact and smile
Instead of dagger lies and angry poems
At least we’d be happy for a while

And you wouldn’t have to hurt yourself
Or all the other people, beside me, who care
I’m the only one of them who will leave you
When you really need me there

I’ll leave you cold and lonely
So angry you’ll count more than once to ten
But no matter what I do it seems
I’ll always be just one more burden
