Shakesperean Sonnet no 2.

by Darkening Dawn   Jul 23, 2006

To be defiled yet still be pure and clean
say goodnight to those who sin against you
But not to raise a hand for what has been
Yet to give a hand you do not have to
Give love for wrong, if they do not wish love
Give them grace, forgive the sin, their black fire
and in your blood, cloak their hand in a glove
A white glove, cleansing touch, pull them from mire
though it has been you, Victim, that has bled
Do not sink to heartless revenge, rise up
like a phoenix from the ashes, it\'s said
Drink to their future from a crystal cup
But i warn you, fair friend, of slow poison
If you dwell there you will drown in there sin
