One Sided

by RCM   Jul 24, 2006

When your love is all one sided
And you're the only one that cares
When you tell her that you love her
And she gives that drop dead stare
When you stand there shocked and mortified
Knowing everybody listened and every body heard
And you slink away avoiding all those watching eyes
And the laughter grows to thunderous
And you shrink and die inside
Is it any wonder that you regret the having tried?
But you pick yourself up and say
She just had a real bad day
You decide next time you'll choose more carefully the words you want to say.
She's sitting in the park underneath an old oak tree
And you pluck up lots of courage, say hi, hello it's me
She looks and starts to laughing, and you feel a real dill
And you turn and start to running, running down the hill
With the tears and blurry vision you stumble and you fall
And you suddenly realize she doesn't care at all.
