I never thought I would find
Someone quite like you
I knew that I was in love
Before the night was through.

Your smile lit up the room
And your voice lit up my heart
I couldn't get over how you had me
Right from the very start.

Friendship caught on fire
Like a candle's burning flame
I knew that you would take care of me
And this wasn't just a game.

I fell asleep in your arms that night
So big and safe and strong
Who would've guess you were the one I was looking for
For oh so very long.

    Good poem. there was emotion, there was rhyming, there was rhythm....but there was nothing special to it. i've basically read that same poem over and over again. a 4 line stanza where the 2nd and 4th line rhyme. change it up a lil. start a whole new approach. its fun! good poem though.
