Diamonds

by Thoughtless Consideration   Jul 24, 2006

And the roses are so red
And the leaves are so green

Your eyes are so dark
My eyes are so distant.

The dew drops sparkle like diamonds in the early morning sun.
The grass whispers like a ghost as the wind rolls over it.

The rain pours from the sky,
Oh no, I think.

Rain falling from the sky
Means that the world is starting to cry.

Sunlight breaks through heavy clouds.
Warmth dances across my face.

The night pushes away the day.
The moon smiles down on me.

I smile back up at the twinkling stars.
I still sit here,

My eyes glued to the sky.
My heart about to jump up and fly.

The rain gently kisses my cheek.
My eyes close softly.

Sleep washes over me.
The rain falls over me like a blanket.

In my dream,
The dew drops sparkle like diamonds in the early morning sun.
