Tale of Woe

by Dana   Jul 24, 2006

I guard my post with my head hanging
in the crevasse of my arms.
My last position,
my last tear shed,
plastered in their place forever
and a day.
I lay on my loves tombstone for eternity with
My wings solidified,
My heart frozen,
my emotions imprisoned
in this carapace of remorse.
You may ask why?

I was an angel,
Sent to guard her
Disguised as a neighbor.
I watched her grow up
Into a woman,
into a beauty,
into my love.

Love is forbidden between mortals and non,
But I never cared.
Her beauty was remarkable,
No one could resist her charm.
We shared our first kiss
And immediately her life was in danger.
Her life would be taken
And her soul would be sent to hell.
I couldn't bare the fact of her beauty
Being melted off
From the fiery pits.
I gave up my existence
For her soul to take the place of mine.

I turn into stone,
to make sure my soul
will never escape.
Iâ??m trapped within this crust of rock,
To suffer with eternal love.
And now here I lay,
My head resting on my forearms,
My body engraved with stone.
My love can never break through this marble shell.
This ends my tale of love,
My tale of woe.
Now leave me be,
My love awaits my concrete tears,
And my everlasting love.

*** this was based on a picture....that I can no longer find so....just let your imagination run wild lol***

** Critizism welcome with open arms..please!**
