Loving A Soldier

by Elise   Jul 25, 2006

As he turns to get on the plane, I don't want him to leave.
Memories flash in front of me like an old T.V. show.
I think of how things used to be, I think of how things are now and fear the unknown.
He gets on the plane and flies away to war where the fighting never ends.

I drive home with tears streaming down my face thinking that he's never coming home.

Loving a soldier turns rain to ice,
Loving a soldier turns everyday to night,
Loving a soldier makes everyday cold until that letter of hope comes.

My soldier stands tall and strong,
My soldier's tears are made of steel,
And my soldier's love is peace.
