Translucent Grins When Darkness Descends

by HungatMidnight   Jul 25, 2006

Drip, drip, drip,
Down glide the crystal tears,
As my heart continues to rip,
Closing my eyes; the sudden fears,
They come alive, they twist into motion,
Crawling from deep inside my mind,
Gnawing and fortifying every known emotion,
Running, searching, yet with no place to hide,
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter,
The kitchen floor has never been so cold,
Walk, go faster, and dont stop, faster!
Escape now; leave, before they come, be bold!
Yet again, the courage diminishes,
In my prison I stay, as to my cell I return,
Butterfly riddled with chained wings; dark catharsis,
Collapsing, grasping, the rage burns,
Mascara bleeds, open pulsing arteries,
Deception blackens the frozen waters clarity,
Blood red flows upon naked flesh seas,
Darkness falls, ebony wisps shroud onto me,
Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump,
Rushing octaves, venom enhanced heat,
Bittersweet notes, louder the distant drum,
Quickened heart, raging the bloody beat,
White walls flash rotten spews of memory,
The yesterdays unforgotten obscenities,
Horror solidified by the unholy sting of your hand,
Blood rushes to the surface of its land,
Deliverance, oh please give me redemption,
My carcass of innocence collects fragments of dust,
The door slams closed, the immediate tension,
Devil comes to gain his prize, putrid aching thrust,
Walking in, flashing fake smiles, incubus glares,
I sit, pretending to breathe just fine, dying to seize,
Crystal tears dried, anger in my mind still blares,
Fears retreating slowly, one day the prisoner shall leave!
