Every Occasion

There's a mask that I put on,
at school, for my friends.
One that looks so happy,
with a smile that never ends.

There's a mask that I put on,
when I am in my Sunday best.
It looks so lovely and innocent.
I wear it with my Sunday dress.

There's a mask that I put on,
at home for my sisters..
It shows a face full of success.
It shows to never be a quitter.

There's a mask that I put on,
just for Children's Aid.
It looks so brave and fine,
and it never looks afraid.

There's a mask that I put on,
on the weekends with my dad.
It shows there is nothing wrong.
It's always carefree and glad.

There's a mask that I put on,
for the little girl I babysit.
It looks so fun and free,
and never "out-of-it".

There's a mask that I put on,
for so many prince charmings.
Though it's not flawless or beautiful,
it never looks alarming.

There's a mask that I put on,
for the pastor,at my church.
It shows such strength and wisdom.
It shows no sign of hurt.

These masks that I put on,
all come off at night.
I give them to my angel teddy bear,
and then I cry and hold her tight.

My angel teddy bear,
has seen what I've been through.
She caught the tears I cried.
She knows each mask I choose.

My angel teddy bear,
knows why I need these masks.
She saw what used to happen.
She won't ever need to ask.

I thank my angel teddy bear,
for catching all my tears,
and for keeping this secret,
for all of these years.

I now lay my angel teddy bear,
with the blade I just used.
I just took my life.
Darkness forever is what I choose.

Omg the last part almost made me cry because I too have stuffed animals to talk to and they know what I am going through, just thinking of them makes me want to cry in a good way because they are always so happy to see me :)
