So Long Forgotten

by Jemma   Jul 26, 2006

I used to love padding about those pale beaches
The sun scorching my back
And the sand burning my feet
I used to turn and see my footprints
My own trail leading into the distance
But I was never going anywhere
I used to love the feel of the sea greedily lapping at my feet
A soothing balm, cool breath tickling me
Bringing me home
I had forgotten

I cannot fly and I travel by sea
The sea means that much more to me
It could swallow me, cleanse me, kill me, save me
And I never truly forgot that
But how it did, was lost within me
Just a blurred outline in the silver mist
Only just clearing
And I can see the two sets of footprints once again

It was always a strange experience
Meeting someone that first time
So unsure, anxious even afraid
And I needed to calm and be gentled by the current
Relieving my mind with the white noise
Sweet nothings just mumbled on the air
With the sounds of the sea
The sounds of a breath
So long forgotten

**Ok this is not som much rekindled love but it was the best fit. it's more realizing that someone who has always been there is still there and will continue to be**
