Finally Free

by LovelyDivine   Jul 26, 2006

Sitting out on the rooftop,
Looking up at the midnight sky.
I just can't seem to stop,
Thinking and wondering why.
Why'd this go on for so long?
Why didn't I stand up and be strong?
None of that really matters anymore.
Now that I'm finally free,
I can be whoever I wanna be.
But I think I'll just be me,
Staying true to who I am,
Working hard and doing what I can.
No longer am I going to be told,
Who's hand I'm allowed to hold,
Cause I am FINALLY FREE!!!

Powerful poem with great message, especially in the lines:
    -Now that I'm finally free,
I can be whoever I wanna be.
But I think I'll just be me,
Staying true to who I am,
Working hard and doing what I can.-
