Last Breath

by Megan   Jul 26, 2006

You walk into the room
Fall down to your knees
As you see what I've done
And begin to cry out
"Oh God what have you
Done to yourself this time?"

You call the cops and
Begin to see the damage
I'd done to myself
And see all the cuts
So deep the skin began
To bruise around them...

When the police arrive
They have nothing to
Say about the site
They are looking at
They just shake their
Heads and walk away...

You notice one small
Spec of white mixed
In with all the red
And ask what it is
And they bend down
To get a closer look...

Clutched in my hand
Is a blood stained note
Meant for only your
Beautiful eyes to see
As you try to unfold the
Paper you begin to read...

"Dear love,
With every breath I took
In you felt so much pain
You'd cry...so I made it
To where I'd never cause
You anymore pain...

Today I took in my last
Breath and ended all
The pain I caused you...
That I never meant to...
Now you can live your
Life the way you wanted...

All I ever wanted to do
Was love you till the
Day that I died, which
I guess I did, but I never
Intended to cause you
All that pain as well...

I will always love you
Baby, even in death...
You were the only one
For me, even if I wasn't
The right one for you...
Always love, Your baby..."

When you read my last
Words you cried out
That the pain you felt
Was never my doing...
It was always your own
Stupidity that brought it...

You begin to cry out
Asking God to let me
Be saved, to let me
Breath again so you can
Show me that your
Really did love me

As they start to take
My body away you
Grow angry, begin
Screaming at them
Telling them they
Can't touch me...

"She's going to wake!
She's just sleeping!
There only cuts, they
Will heal...You'll see
I'll have my baby
Back in my arms tonight!"
