I Hated You Today

I guess it might be a lie
I'm not sure why
You keep telling me we'll go to a spot
Where everyone else is not.

But it'll never be that way
Therefor I hated you today.
I'm tired of making plans we've told
Then watching them unfold.

It happens in front of my face
It seems like a race
When we're with the rest
to keep you I have to try my best.

Ending up in defeat
I realize I shouldn't have to compete.
But it seems there's no other way,
Therefor I hated you today.
