A single rain drop

by brooke christina   Jul 28, 2006

Imagine a drop of rain
hanging by a leaf
containing the whole universe
peoples lives and their beliefs
in this single rain drop
holds so much destruction
poverty and death
helped only by discussion
every three seconds
a little child dies
millions of people in starvation
as the rest of the world sighs
and while all this happens
the rain drop still stays
as the reflection of devastation
doesn't change its ways
yet they carry on with their wars
destroying with their guns
killing peoples daughters
killing peoples sons
they never see what they do
concentrating on their politics
democrats and governments
cause pain and inflicts
you are on the outside
watching in on the rain drop
can you hear the people screaming?
can you hear their hearts beats stop?
so what do we do?
nothing out of normality
we carry on with our original ways
turn the other cheek blindly
and the more they fight
the rain drop gets heavier
until it holds too much weight
and the air around it gets gentler
the rain drop falls to the ground
the universe inside fallen
as every soul contained
left silent and broken
