Sunset (sonnet)

by Jenn   Jul 28, 2006

As the sun goes down, the moon rises,
The earth gets slightly cool.
The dark purple sky of the night is the best prizes.
The stars twinkle like a teal pool.
During sunset the land is gold,
The air is getting bitter.
All the images of the vast land, bold.
The colors mix like glitter.
The sky reflects various shades,
The grass, dusted with dew.
The wind blows the little green blades.
The sky is no longer a hue of blue.
This is the sunset, beautiful, bright.
The only color in the evening light.
