Bread (Ottava Rima)

by Paggles   Jul 29, 2006

Should melancholy weigh upon your heart
Tomorrow seems a thousand miles beyond
Remembering the beauty from the start
The love, the laughter of a love so fond
With wistful longings tearing you apart
And nary hope of joining broken bond
Remember you shall always have a friend
Who cradles you and rocks you till the end

Should restless worry infiltrate your dreams
The candles dancing flame blown into dark
Should you have fallen hard to pains extreme
The zest so once abundant lost its spark
Try not to hold back tears for they should stream
As sorrowed feelings make their lonely mark
Remember you shall never be alone
His love, His light for you has always shown

Try keeping shoes beneath your feather bed
For on a bended knee you'll have to go
While reaching for them ask for daily bread
And guidance thru the day, His will to know
At night upon your pillow lay your head
And thank Him, for the love's begun its flow
As you slumber--dreams of peaceful pleasure
Tears He'll shed for you--His perfect treasure

    [Through ..not thru]

But wow. This was a GREAT Ottava Rima. I've done a few of these, and they sucked, but this was great. Like wow. Excellent choice of wording, t'was fantastic. Keep it up, you're talented.
