Betrothed

by Paggles   Jul 29, 2006

Upon the ground where once thou walked
wild roses now doth bloom
such wonderous flowers of thy seeds
enriched with thy perfume

Save me not to cross this way
as thorns doth bleed me dry
yet I must live another day
with nary tears to cry

Betrothed unto another
twas thy final destiny
beyond these earthen boundaries
love shall carry thee to me

Thou art my fairest maiden
yet thy flesh doth now belong
to fate so early chosen
by thy family ties foregone

One moment more upon this earth
proves torment without thee
perchance in death such love
may find its home back unto me

So should thee find my saber
buried deep within my breast
know thee that I've left my sorrowed
heartache for the best

Save thy tears - shed not a drop
of grief - for I do rest
upon the wings of angels
that have risen to my quest

The sweetness of thy very breath
thy tender love divine
will carry through eternity
unto the end of time

Fear not my love - come thee to me
with Heaven as thy guide
I lay in wait until the day
our love doth so reside
