I Saw (2)

by gabriel   Jul 29, 2006

I saw a man who felt his heart
I saw a man so torn apart
I saw that man who crave with desire
I saw the same man in straits so dire

I saw a man who sang a sad song
I saw a man longing to belong
I saw that man who really tried
I saw the same man saw hope died

I saw a man who swallowed his pride
I saw a man struggle with each stride
I saw that man seemingly unsound
I saw the same man with a sad frown

I saw a man who had no where to go
I saw a man being ridiculed so
I saw that man in repressiveness
I saw the same man marked with his carelessness

I saw a man who suffered in silence
I saw a man a victim of violence
I saw that man limped and broken
I saw that same man constantly death-stricken

I saw a man who prepared his pyre
I saw a man who started a fire
I saw that man who breathe his last
I saw the same man erase his tainted past

I saw a man who shone bright at night
I saw a man who was this sight
I saw that man with flesh so raw
I saw the same man who purged his flaw

I saw a man who lay down there
I saw a man who no longer care
I saw that man with his face at ease
I saw the same man who saw peace
