Into The Light

Into The Light

As I walk from the darkest night,
I begin to regain my sight.
Lost in a hallucination that I began,
Free from the shackles of insanity again.
Feels good to be standing on my own,
Knowing that I'm not alone.
Thinking back on the time I lost,
Knowing now everything you do has a cost.
I know everything happens for a reason,
I'm just glad I've finally changed seasons.
Winter inside my mind is far to cold,
Now that spring is here I begin to grow bold.
I've decided to walk a different path,
Now I'm free to cry and laugh.
No longer do I have to fake a smile,
While hiding my pain all the while.
So as the shadows part to revile it is no longer night,
I slowly walk back into the light.

I really enjoyed reading this poem, and though the theme is sad, the message is hopeful in a way. I really liked that. I can relate to your poem, I think just in the sad part, but that's enough, I hope that someday I'll walk back into the light as well.

    Great job! 5/5

    Keep writing.
