Why do you have to be sent away?
I miss you so much when your gone only a day
all i ever think of is you
and how when you leave it'll have to be through

i know it's not your fault, that you don't want to go
but it don't change a thing knowing what i know
you'll try to talk to your dad
but he don't care if your mad

but why do you have to go away so far
i would give anything to be where you are
but you probably won't remember me
your going away how can this be?

you say we can stay friends, but i love you so much more than a friend
and deep down we both no when you leave it will be our end
i have no friends left in town
your the only one to turn to when im down

and when you leave i'm all alone
drifting around can't even talk on the phone
i'm gonna miss you when you go
