Relationships begin and end
In many ways and fashions
We pass in the hall
And catch each others glimpse
Or have a class or two together
We greet each other
Or maybe were too shy
So we ask a friend to introduce us
We start talking and become friends
Wondering how long
This friendship will last
Will it last till the end
Of our high school years
Or will it continue to grow
Long into college
In the case of mixed gender friendships
The questions begin to blossom
Like, will we ever be more
Than just friends who are there for each other
Will he be my crying shoulder
When my boyfriend breaks up with me
Or will he be the one
To break my heart
When I tell him my true feelings
Of how much I love and adore him
Can he handle the truth
That he means the world
And so much more to me
Will he be the guy
That will take me to my senior prom
Or just a friend
Who tells me I look gorgeous for my date
Will our graduation day
Be the last time I hold him in my arms
Or will he be there till the end
Will he tell me he secretly loves me
Or will he just say goodbye
