Self destruction

Driving on the highway of self-destruction.
Following the road of emptiness,
Feeling an ocean of emotions,
Breaking the vow you once made of being true to yourself.

You just keep forgetting.
You cannot let go of your bad habits,
It`s like having strings attached from the heels of your shoes that keep finding new desires to hurt you.

You are crippled.
The bad choices you made crippled your body, and now your mind cannot get past that.

Vanity is blocking your view,
you cannot see through the rain,
you continue to wipe the rain from your tired eyes to show the public that you are really trying, trying, trying.
But secretly you have no desire for the rain to ever stop.
Praying those wet drops will keep blinding you, binding you, and tiring your skin out,
because if the sun started to shine, you would probably break down anyway,

Justifying the human in you,
Too afraid to let the flower grow,
Too afraid to stop,
Too afraid to dive in and wipe off the dirt
You blame your life on the sunset you once saw,
it cracked your vision of what the world is supposed to be.

You push yourself away.
Welcome a perfect stranger that can save you one blissful night.

In your dreams you run into your mother,
she is waiting at the end of the tunnel calling for you,
there is no speed fast enough to get you to the end of that tunnel.

On the full moon you get a bit too much of the good stuff,
as you drift away you think that for once you are getting something right in your life.

Sometimes a self indulgent life can be a self destructive life. Sometimes we have to take that risk and love without strings! give and recieve.
