Memory lane

by abby   Jul 31, 2006

Staring at the pictures
please tell me it isn't true
looking at all the faces
of the ones who have forgotten about you

going through the yearbooks
each turn of the page brings more pain
not knowing just where you went wrong
or if all six years was a mistake

all the times we laughed together
all the times we've cried
remembering all the stupid gossip
that seemed to run our lives

seeing all of your faces today
you seem like people i never knew
touching the pictures of you all
wondering how I've gone on without you

that hopeless feeling is coming back
like I'm missing something down there
like only bad things will continue to happen
unless i catch the next ride down there

seeing you all and reading old notes
staring at the new pictures of you all
your almost the same
tho i know its not true

time is the one to blame
much to my dismay
you all lead your lives without me
not even noticing my absence from this scene

maybe its better this way
just for me to sit and watch it all play
knowing depression is heavy on my heart
all because of this walk I'm taking
down memory lane

It's good babe, really good. And instead of wallowing in self-pity why don't you call them.
