Now That You Are Leaving..

Now that you are leaving,
Reality has finally hit,
I know that I'm going to miss you,
And all of the things you said, and how they always fit...

It feels like I understand you more now,
And even myself,
If it wasn't for you,
I don't think that I'd know who I was...

Even though I've said some harsh things,
You know that they weren't always true,
I never totally looked up to anybody else,
It was always you...

We've had our shares of mistakes,
But we always find some way to accept them,
And knowing that you are always there for me,
Means so much more to me than I can show in this poem...

Knowing that you've realized that I have to experience things on my own,
Is one of the greatest things you've ever done,
You know I'm going to make mistakes in my life time,
But I want you to know that you've proved to me that you are there for me, and your not the only one...

Don't worry that there is nobody there to watch out for me,
Because there's quite a few that always do,
But it's good to know that your willing to help me when i need it,
No matter what it is that I'm going through...

You've showed me a lot over the years,
And I'm not sure what I could possibly do to repay you,
Only that I hope that I've showed you something along the way,
So that I can feel like a great role model too!
