One thing I fear

Running as fast as I can
I stop when I come to the
One thing that terrifies me
Beyond anything else...
And I start to walk slowly
Toward it, shaking...

As I step into the darkness
My pace begins to slow...
The light is slowly fading
Behind me as I walk away...
The darkness wraps it's arms
Round me locking me in
A thick and hard cocoon...

I want to cry out in terror
But hold it in for I fear
That the slightest noise
Or even movement could
Cause a breech in the
Walls of my cocoon...
Or even let the ones
Outside know where
I'm hiding from them...

The one thing I fear
Could cause my death
Is the only thing keeping
Me from safe anymore
