I'll remeber this bridge forever and ever...

The path we chose

I still remember,
In my dreams,
You were still there,
From what it seemed,

There was a broken bridge,
That separated us,
A endless fall,
To test our trust,

I was on one side,
You were on the other,
We were eternities apart,
yet we searched for eachother,

I was lifeless,
Weak and blind,
But I heard your voice,
The only voice in my mind,

You called out to me,
When I was on my knees,
Through a never-ending fire,
That would never seize,

My only thought was you,
Tears slid down my cheeks,
To you I still persued,
But I was lost in me,

You always stood there,
From imagination to reality,
As I searched for you,
Suddenly we both see,

At that moment I realized,
We weren't meant to be,
You just looked down at me,
That stare showed me,

The me that let you down,
The me that made you cry,
The me that was long gone,
The me that made you die,

What I was to you,
What we've been thru in the past,
Our memories of us once,
All vanished so fast,

I now know,
How you once felt,
And now I'm ashamed,
That you were whom I once held,

I hear whispers,
I hear your sorrow,
All telling me to let go,

I guess all my sorries,
Just weren't enough,
No matter how hard I tried,
You didn't receive all my love,

You seem to have slipped,

I can no longer feel your presence,
As I did the other day,

The sky starts to darken,
Thunder begins to roar,
The clouds crumble,
And rain starts to pour,

Slowly washing me away,
Letting time take over,
Still living in yesturday,
Never brought me closer,

I try to open my eyes,
I search for your hand,
But you said your final goodbye,

You walk away from me,
The me that's no longer me,
The me you forsakened,
The me that died to be,

I scream with an unheard tone,

It's a new beginning,

I hear the phone ring,

I smile once more,
To know that we both left behind,

Our unforgiving past,
Unforgettable pain,
But we've both let it go,

Onto forever and ever,
I see the bridge again,
This time it's together,
This time it's better,

I hear your voice,
Calling out to me,
I feel our hand,
Reaching towards to me,

I see you by my side,
I know your happiness as mine,
We've finally regained out trust,

Once a broken bridge,
but now healed,
