Wake me not

by lawrence   Mar 4, 2004

Wake me not
for no more do I find
joy in the state of
consciousness

Peace comes from within
the souls of men
and this soul attains that
peace in slumber

In which dreams and reality
know no boundaries
the perfect world
the perfect escape
achieving the impossible

*sorry, i know this doesn't sound anything like a poem. sounds crappy too. but it just came to me and decided to write it down...

hey lawrence thought id come on over and say a big thanks for your kind and very funny words(taste in mouth halfway through.had to read that couple of times to get it!). find myself re-reading yr comments for a few days, i like exchanging views of poetry with you. Oh and yes it is the same psycho-dude who wrote that and beach poems (lol) written a couple more, so easy writing about love after living in a criminaly insane mind for four days trying to figure out ways to sicken people. dont feel obligated to comment but your views are always highly valued. speak to you soon friend

just came to you lawrence? stream of conciousness kind of thing?
its short, neat and consice and i like it. im impressed. normally i have to hammer and chisel out every line. the theme of trying to find solace in dreams, an escape from reality is somthing i tried but was never happy with, this is much better than my effort. `peace comes from within` `no more...joy state of conciousness` really good lines, they say it all. but the favourite for me `dreams and reality know no boundarys` like the person in the poem has retreated so far into his conciousness that there is no distinction between the two. each verse, each line flows, by that i mean the words you have used are as beautiful to listen to as they are to read on the page. they hang together well. to answer your question in your comment yes this is definatly a poem, and a good one at that! top marks 5outa5 thanks for reading killer poem. if u can stomach another helping of my `overactive` imagination(lol) then the conclusion is finished. hated writing it, my poems try to cover all the ranges of the human mind, but its left a bad taste in the mouth if you know what i mean. keep up the good work L. adding you to my favourites list. if this poem just came to you as you say then i envy you.
