Come back

by Jordan Smith   Aug 2, 2006

This is a letter to the love of my life, the one who told me he'd never leave, the one who asked me to be his wife.

He wasn't just some other guy, he wasn't the guy that ever had to cheat, steal, or lie.

Looking into his eyes was the only way that made me feel alive, and now, I'd give anything to see what lies behind those eyes.

He gave me more love than I could have ever of dreamt of, he showed me the kind of love that nothing could be held higher, or above.

Loving him was my goal for life, kissing him was what I was going to do before we ended the night.

Holding his hands made me safer than ever, his touch made me want to float away, how I'd give anything for him to stay and wait.

It's to late for us now, he's leaving, and he doesn't really care how. Being with me use to be the most important, now none of me will he ever want to see.

I thought I did it all right, I thought that we'd be together every morning and every night.

Life doesn't always come out peaches and cream does it, all that came out, is our future left unseen.

The flow of this was a little rocky as the rhyme scheme flipped but it was still really sweet. It had a sad tinge to it as well which gave it more dimension.
Loved the ending 2 lines - very true.
