According To You (Our Generation)

by the middle   Aug 2, 2006

I am blind,
I don't feel,
I don't care,
I'm not real.

I am weak,
I'm not strong,
I'm naive,
I'm always wrong.

I'm not sad,
just another act,
my stories are fiction,
contain no fact.

I'm too ugly,
not thin enough,
my skin's too pale,
my hands are rough.

These aren't tears,
They're just pretend,
I need no sympathy,
I need no friends.

I'm just another face,
another tight clenched fist,
according to you,
I don't even exist.

But you don't know me,
you just judge and stare,
think you know me,
by the style of my hair.

You taunt and you tease,
without saying a word,
you're not speaking,
but your actions are heard.

You push and force
everyone into your mold,
so we can all be like you,
and do as we're told.

So i hope one day when,
you have a breakdown like mine,
you'll be fed your own poison,
and pushed back in line.
