The fate of Faith.

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Aug 3, 2006

With the sun shining down the windy dirt road..lighting my way
i skip along, kicking the dirt and rocks beneath my sandals
equipped with a net and a bucket..ready for the day at the creek.
And as the crickets chirp and the chickadees sing..
i hum a long to natures enchanting voices.
As i lay down my bucket and roll up my sweat pants.
and i feel the cool water splash against my legs
as i stand on top the rocks beneath the waterfall.
my toes lightly laced with foam from the crashes.
and the frogs are jumping and the beavers are building
and i walk to wards a frog and catch it...it slowly trying to slide out of my grip.
as i run to my bucket and put it in and watch it
look up at me with beady eyes...and slowly unravel his tongue to catch a fly
with nothing but a quick swallow..and i am taken back to ten years earlier.
A clear blue sky, a shining sun, a light breeze, and a bucket.
Same routine...different time.
And the frog...the same look..a look of exasperation.
and as i held it in my hands and lightly put my finger on its head
and pet it as it looked back at me.
And for a moment..i saw a glimpse of a prince.
A prince charming somehow trapped within this hideous body.
He wanted out..and he was asking me to help..
but i couldn't pull myself to do it.
He must have been put into that body for a reason..
because everything happens for a reason..and everybody has a purpose
as did he..and now..as i stand here today..i think back to that day.
Knowing in my heart it was you..and as i look to the sky above
i wink to the angels and thank them for what they did.
