Im sorry dad

by Ruth   Aug 4, 2006

You told me not to do it dad
you told me not to get into the car
but i was drunk dad
we went going to go very far
it was only 10 minutes away dad
not very long
but as u used to say dad
anything can happen in 10 minutes
we came to a bridge dad
the driver wasn't looking
we hit the side of the bridge dad
only the driver survived
I'm standing over my body dad
i dint understand
i saw the bridge coming dad
but didn't feel the crash
the Ambros leaning over me
saying that I'm dead dad
they say my body went through the window
but how can i be dead dad?
I'm only 14
i cry out your name dad
when the police come to call
I'm standing right beside you dad
standing in the hall
i need you to tell my friends
i want them to know dad
tell them to be brave
and if they need me dad
tell them ill be there
tell my brothers to be brave dad
and my darling sister too
tell them i love them dad
just like i love mum and you
at my funeral dad
read my poems aloud
let the bastard who killed me dad
to know ill never let him live it down
he was 19 dad
a legal adult
i hope he goes to jail dad
because thanks to him
i no longer have a life
i guess my angels are free now dad
seeing as I'm gone
i may become someone Else's angel dad
since iv moved along
i have one last thing to say dad
tell everyone if they need me dad
to not hesitate to call
night or day
ill be there
with three slams of the door
