Supermodel

by JustAStatistic   Aug 4, 2006

Supermodel, can you teach me how to be like you?
I only have twenty pounds to lose,
And everything else to gain.
Can your make-up hide my scars?
I'm sure a few more won't hurt,
And the blood shows me that I'm still not pure...

Supermodel, can you teach me how to be like you?
I do so admire your perfection,
And your feather weight.
What's it like to dance between raindrops?
To walk on freshly fallen snow,
And mar not it's virgin purity.

Supermodel, can you teach me how to be like you?
Always picture-perfect,
Not a hint of failing emotions.
Teach me how to swallow my sadness,
Happiness, anger,
So that I can carry on.

Supermodel, I'm learning to be like you.
I run five miles a day,
And food is the enemy.
Every day my bones protrude more,
And it makes me pure and proud,
Though emotions are strictly internal.

Thank-you supermodel, I've finally been set free.
They put my body in a hole,
And what a beautiful corpse I made.
You taught me to accept perfection.
Ribs, hips and collarbones,
Were as clear as the wounds on my wrists.
