Lightening, Losing, and a Lullaby

by The Spirit of Ash   Aug 4, 2006

Time wheels by and she grows colder
Many look past the unseen exposure
Clouded in regret, loss, and hate
She turns the tides to build a fate

Her tainted heart is the shade of black
Caused by the love she is at lack
Burdened with memories for her to remember
She is in way more trouble than ever

She cries with rain; runs under lightening
What she has become is almost frightening
She takes risks and gambles with life
Screams inside and fights with strife

She slashes upon her fragile skin
And draws the blood from deep within
Her hurting burns like wild fire
Only to die is her most desire

She starves herself until the bone shows
She is suffering and still nobody knows
The pain she endures; what she goes through
Since no one cares, she will pursue

The torture and shadows drive her insane
Endlessly she burns, and cuts for that vein
She wishes and prays to once more feel love
"What is wrong with me?" she asks to God above

Then one night, something in her shifted
Her tears and fears were suddenly lifted
Feeling weightless, she looks all around
Then clutches the treasures she sees on the ground

Photos, a diary,a shiny (but deadly) friend
She knows it is time for it all to end
She scribbles on pages what's on her mind
And stares at friends from past time

She hears a song to call upon her death
She has but only a little while left
She whispers a quiet; silent goodbye
Then listens to the angel's lullaby
