Till death do us part

by ashley   Aug 5, 2006

I run from the room to avoid shattering glass,
Father silences mom with his fist,
I run down the hall on the blood red carpet,
To my bedroom to take out the pain on my wrist.

I shut the white door that says Ashley Eleanore
I press my back to it and fall to the floor.
Press my hands to my ears to soften the screams.
And reach for my pin as I hear dad roar.

It hurts more to see mom cry,
But the pin helps me sleep at night,
I look in my mirror and see a stranger,
Someone who has been in a fight.

Every night it seems they get violent,
I wish they would notice how scared I am,
A child doesn't matter in the real world,
The vows have been broken between Johanna and Sam.
