Why I Can't Let Go

Lost inside an endless dream of you and me

Floating through the air on the song that you sing.

I get caught in the forever that stretches behind your eyes

Drowning in the thoughts of you that flood inside my mind.

I reach for your hand and feel you pull me close

But I cry inside my soul for reasons you'll never know.

Because in reality this is only just a dream

And when I wake in the day you're never here with me.

And I know you will never understand just how I feel

So I continue to live with a heart that will never heal.

If only you could look into my eyes and peer inside my soul

Then maybe you would finally see why I can't let go.
