Clock's Chime

by Raychil   Aug 5, 2006

Tick, tick, tick
Listen to the clock's chime
As you sit there in the dark
Trying to pass the time

Still the sadness plagues your soul
As you have no where left to go
The broken pieces of your heart
Still remain torn apart

Was it really nothing special?
Did it really mean nothing at all?
Inside you know the answer
But you refuse to accept the fall

The haunting moment stalks your mind
You realize there's no hope to find
This was it, it's over and done
Guess you just weren't the one

The picture drops from your hands
It falls straight to the ground
But you have gone numb to the world
And you don't hear the sound

Now darkness has swallowed you up inside
There's nowhere left for your heart to hide
As tears fall blindly from your face
You accept yourself into this dark place

There could have been another way
But darkness was your pick
The last of the light is slowly consumed
Tick, tick, tick

*ehhh... didn't like how this turned out :-/ but please still vote and rate and I can hopefully fix it up.

I'm not sure what you meant.. Maybe, because I can read anything into anything, it worked just fine for me. I really liked it.. Only one line creates a problem for me
"But you refuse accept the fall"
Is this refuse to accept the fall? Or simply refuse. Accept the fall. Maybe a word, or alternative punctuation may complete the line..?
All in all, a great poem. Well done. xx
