A harsh love

by broken reflection   Aug 6, 2006

Her head is clear,
She has lost all her fear,
Her heart is free,
She is no longer a devotee!

She stabbed him in the heart,
Her face marked with his blood,
Warmth rushes over her, like a flood
Now their fighting won't start.

She hung on to his every word,
She did everything that she was told,
She realizes now that it was all absurd...
She was wasting her life, she was getting old!

She expresses her happiness,
By covering his house in gasoline...
Whilst performing a dance,
Everything was contravened.

She sits in her deckchair,
As she laughs, the house is ablaze,
Her eyes just gaze,
As the thick black smoke of her past,
goes up into the air

Scars he may have left,
Children she could have kept,
Memories that will never fade...
Time she must have served,
But she still has that helpful blade,
And the there's a thought that remains...
"He got what he deserved!"

This was an interesting poem to say the least. It didn't lack anything in the way of feeling as far as i'm concerned. It flowed well and it was a nice read. good job. 5/5
