Societys Chains

by Deana   Aug 6, 2006

The chains that bind our freedom
Like cold steel, in its vise-like grip
Links of insecurity not allowing us to fly
For through error we might slip.

We bind our hearts by society's standards
Being normal, upright and real
So important to the status seekers
Our Actions are not what we really feel

What a dream it would be.
To learn how to break free
To see what it's like to be
An uninhibited, unrestrained me.

Soaring like an eagle in flight
Caring not for the worlds view
Of what is wrong or right
How great to be, the rebellious few

I know those chains, I'll never find the key to unlock them.
