What Heart? [Sonnet 0]

by Abigail Rayne   Aug 7, 2006

You say I have a heart...
That feels and wants and loves...
What you speak of is ripped apart...
From all the violent pushes and shoves.

No more feeling the pain of loss...
No more wanting for this loveless soul...
No more loving the loveless...
Not for this black heart of coal.

Someone else will come and claim...
This maggots body for a while...
That's all they'll get no matter their aim...
For this souls one that won't be defiled.

I don't need a jump start,
What I need a new heart.
