Virtue

Hidden voices in my ear
Tell me what I donâ??t want to hear
They confuse my heart and mind
And shout the things Iâ??ve left behind

They call to me, out of sight
Blur the line between wrong and right
And as my eyes burn with tears
They whisper my forgotten fears.

My love, the hate, within me
I believe them all so easily.
But, amid this awful throng,
Lies my pure, long-hidden songâ?¦

My melody, so clear, so sweet
Flowing with my lifeâ??s own beat
It tells me of why Iâ??m here
As it drowns out those hidden fears.
