Pleading Heart

by Ashes of a Black Rose aka Night Child   Aug 7, 2006

In secrecy, this pleading heart
Wants not but to be complete
For it has never once been whole
But only felt rejection

Friend, I come to you once more
Asking you this time not for answers
For answers all in all
Have only to be questioned themselves

Jealousy, my heart, I turn to you
Begging only for relief
Never before have I wanted so little
But never before has so little meant so much

Anger, my companion, I settle on you
Please once more push me to the edge
I want nothing more than to fall
Just to simply fall away

But Fate, you shall corrupt me
And intercept my fall
"saving" me from all I want
"Protecting" me from what I need

Betrayal, you reside in my sanctuary
As my millionth tear rolls down
Such a silent, soft, and painful tear
Who knew that so little could hurt so much?

In secrecy, this pleading heart
Wants not but to be complete
For it has never once been whole
And only felt rejection

Wow... I really, really liked this one. Why? Because it was powerful and fulfilling all the way through. Very great and strong with emotion. Wonderful job. You're best one, in my opinion.
